Hydraulic Drive Cutter Head Dredger Core Parts for Sale
The cutter head of a cutter suction dredger is one of its most core and iconic components. It is directly responsible for cutting, crushing and stirring the soil, silt, clay, gravel and even soft rock on the bottom of the water, and is the decisive factor in the dredging capacity of the dredger.
Main structural components
The cutter frame/arm: Usually a steel structural skeleton that forms the main frame of the cutter head. It supports the tooth seat, the teeth, and is connected to the drive shaft (shaft). Large cutter frames may be hollow inside for routing or buoyancy.
Teeth: The parts that directly contact and break the soil. They are highly wear-resistant and replaceable, usually made of high-strength alloy steel (such as chrome-molybdenum steel), and are often welded with carbide (tungsten carbide) or inlaid with carbide tooth tips on their working surface to resist extreme wear. The shape (conical, flat spade, pick, etc.), size, arrangement density and angle of the teeth are specially designed according to the target soil.
Tooth seat/seat: A base welded or fixed to the cutter frame for mounting and fixing the teeth. Good wear resistance is also required.
Cutter hub/center body: The structure located in the center of the cutter head, usually contains the mud suction port (suction port) inside, which is connected to the mud suction pipe. Its external structure helps guide the mud to the suction port.
Mud suction port: Located at the front or side of the auger hub, it is the entrance where mud is sucked into the suction pipe. Its size and position design are critical to suction efficiency.
Drive interface: The part that connects to the underwater auger drive mechanism (usually a hydraulic motor or electric motor driven by a reduction gearbox), transmitting huge torque.
Protective grid/rock basket: Sometimes installed in front of or around the mud suction port to prevent oversized stones and debris (such as wood, abandoned fishing nets) from entering the mud suction pipe, causing blockage or damage to the mud pump.
